Mysore/Mysuru: After various organisations, associations, individuals and political leaders began helping the poor and the needy by providing groceries, food and other essentials, corporates and hotel industry too have pitched in to help the District Administration, MCC and the needy people by contributing necessary things to help keep the pandemic at bay.
Grand Mercure Mysore by Brigade Group has donated thermal screening thermometers to the MCC and also provided immunity boosting tablets for the underprivileged, as part of its efforts to help in the fight against the pandemic.
Thermometers were donated to MCC to support their door-to-door health screening programme in rural areas. In addition, the Hotel also provided fresh and organic vegetables along with immunity boosting tablets to be distributed to the underprivileged in the surrounding locality.
“The effect of the pandemic is being felt by everyone. These initiatives are our way of giving back to the society and serving the people in times of need. For guests staying with us too, we have ensured that maximum safety measures are implemented, including periodic sanitisation of rooms and public areas. We are certified under Accor’s ALLSAFE label and follow the most stringent cleaning standards and operating protocols. We try to maximise digital payments and have even placed digital QR codes for menus in the rooms,” said Sunaina Manerker, General Manager, Grand Mercure Mysore.
In order to help those who need self-isolation, Grand Mercure Mysore is offering a self-isolation package comprising a single occupancy deluxe room with nutritious Bento Box meals along with a discounted a-la-carte menu in a safe and bio-secure environment.
In addition to this, Grand Mercure Mysore is also offering a meal box week-on-week subscription facility which comprises a cyclic menu of nutritious, immunity boosting foods which are home delivered. This menu will include locally inspired dishes which are rich in vitamins and minerals.
CII Mysuru Members in a bid to support the District Administration in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, have donated two ventilators.
The ventilators were handed over by CII Chairman Pavan Ranga and Vice-Chairperson Supriya Salian to Mysore Medical College & Research Institute (MMC&RI) Dean and Director Dr. C.P. Nanjaraj in the presence of Dr. Dinesh and Dr. Mohan from the District Hospital at K.R. Hospital recently. The ventilators were sponsored by NR Group and Excelsoft Technologies.
This apart, Infosys has donated 25 Oxygen Concentrators and Oxygen Jumbo Cylinders to Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan and MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag.
ITC Limited has donated a fully loaded Ambulance, which was handed over to Deputy CM Dr. Ashwathnarayan and MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag.
Also, Plansee India High Performance Materials Pvt. Ltd. has donated 15 Oxygen Concentrators and 1,000 medicine kits to MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag to help COVID patients in Mysuru.
The CII has donated around 150 Hospital Beds and many emergency materials to the District COVID Hospital and has constituted a COVID Task Force to help the District Administration and also to help the patients.
Speaking about the current COVID situation, Pavan Ranga said, “It is a challenging time for all and hence it is very important for us to join hands and support our Government in this battle. I would also like to request citizens across the country to do their bit and follow the Government’s directive very seriously. A simple task like washing hands, staying hygienic, ensuring social distancing is quintessential at this time.”
