Counselling skill workshop for teachers

Mysuru/Mysore: A one-day workshop on ‘Counselling skills for teachers’ was organised for all UG and PG faculty by the St. Philomena’s College Counselling Committee, recently to enhance the counselling skills among teachers and help them to mentor students effectively. 

B.P. Syraskumar, Air Veteran, Trainer and Counsellor, with Person to Person Institute for Christian Counselling, Secunderabad, was the resource person. 

He took the participants through various aspects like skills to identify the problems, issues of self-image, counselling models and skills. The workshop started with opening remarks by Dr.  Ruth Shantha Kumari, Principal, St. Philomena’s College. 

Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, Rector, Prof. Sanjay Nair,  Vice-Principal, Rev. Fr. Maria Xavier, Vice Rector, were present during the occasion.
