Couple obtains Rs. 4 crore loan after submitting fake documents

Mysore/Mysuru: Devaraja Police have registered a case against a couple and also against the person who had given surety after the couple obtained a loan of Rs. 4 crore from a Co-operative Bank by submitting fake documents.

The couple, who have cheated the bank, is L.B. Harish, a contractor and Jyothi, an interior designer and residents of Jayanagar in city. A case has also been registered against M.C. Baluprakash, a resident of Chamarajapuram, who had given surety to the couple.

Details: Harish and Jyothi, who approached Tumkur Grain Merchants Co-operative Bank on K.V. Road in city on Apr. 28, 2017, applied for a loan of Rs. 4 crore after submitting documents pertaining to a commercial complex at Malavalli Town and a site. The Bank’s administrative board approved the loan on May 16, 2017 and released the loan amount.

After obtaining the loan, the couple nor the person who had given surety failed to repay the loan following which the Bank authorities got the documents checked and came to know that they were fake, following which Bank staff Namitha lodged a complaint with Devaraja Police.
