‘Courts should deliver judgements in Kannada’

Mysuru: Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Marithibbegowda said that Courts should deliver judgements in Kannada as intended by the Government.

He was speaking at ‘Kannada Diary and Calendar’ release function organised by ‘Law-Guide’ at Pathrakartara Bhavan here recently.

Regretting that the Government’s wish that all levels of Court deliver judgements in Kannada is yet to be met, Marithibbegowda complimented Advocate H.N. Venkatesh for bringing out ‘Law Guide’ monthly in Kannada for the benefit of common man.

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Member-Secretary and District Civil Judge Mohammad Muzeerulla, who spoke after releasing the diary, said that the people have reposed a lot of faith in the Judiciary. As such, the judges and advocates should function in such a manner that the public do not lose the trust on Courts.

Raichur Sessions Judge M. Mahadevaiah released the calendar. Senior Advocates Syed Shafi Ahmed and P.J. Rahavendra were felicitated on the occasion.

Mysuru Bar Association President G.V. Ramamurthy, Senior Advocate M.D. Harish Kumar Hegde, ‘Law Guide’ Editor H.N. Venkatesh, Fisheries Department Deputy Director Chandrashekar and others were present during the programme.
