COVID-19: City Top Cop asks public to save themselves

Mysore/Mysuru: Asking the citizens to save themselves from COVID-19 rather than looking at ways from escaping Police, City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta said that it was important to follow the lockdown regulations when the country was battling in full might against the deadly pandemic.

Speaking to SOM, Dr. Chandragupta said that it was important for the people to understand the purpose behind the implementation of the nationwide lockdown.

Noting that it was improper for the citizens to unnecessarily come out on to the streets, he said that the people must not fear the Police and instead try to save themselves from becoming victims of the deadly virus, by remaining indoors.

Maintaining that it is not the intention of the Police to inconvenience the public by collecting fines and seizure of vehicles,  the City Top Cop said that the Police were working round the clock to ensure that people stay safe in the confinement of their homes during the lockdown period.

Reiterating his appeal to the public to follow lockdown protocol, he said that the people must understand that the Police are engaged in safeguarding the Health and safety of citizens by discharging their duties.
