District records 22 deaths on May 7
Mysore/Mysuru: In a somewhat welcome news for the authorities, Mysuru District on Friday recorded more number of COVID patient discharges than the number of people testing positive for the deadly virus.
Yesterday, the District reported as many as 2,350 discharges, while 2,246 people tested positive.
As on Friday, the District has recorded 94,599 positive cases, out of which 76,668 infected people went under home isolation or home quarantine. Currently, the district has 16,637 active cases.
However, in a disturbing news, 22 infected patients died of the virus on Friday, thus bringing the total number of deaths in the district to 1,294.
Meanwhile, the deadly pandemic continues to play havoc in Karnataka, with the State recording more than 48,000 cases on a single day on Friday, with Bengaluru city as usual topping the State with 21,376 cases.
The State recorded as many as 592 deaths, the highest single day deaths recorded in Karnataka so far since the pandemic broke out in March last year.
