Mysore/Mysuru: The second round of vaccination against COVID-19 has begun in KR Assembly Constituency since yesterday. It has started at Karnataka Public School in Kuvempunagar and JSS Public School in J.P. Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA S.A. Ramdas said that the citizens were given the first dose of Covaxin last month and they were due for second dose.
The pilot project of vaccinating people in the polling booths has proved successful thanks to the co-operation of everyone. The second dose vaccination drive will continue till October 2. “Our aim is to vaccinate every person above 18 years of age in my constituency and our efforts are on. Already, 1.8 lakh people are vaccinated. In the coming days, vaccination will be administered in all Primary Health Centres (PHCs).”
MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev complimented Ramdas for his concern on his constituency people and also getting 15,000 doses at one time.
He deserves all credit for drawing up a scheme to bring 180 MLD of water from Kabini.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham said that vaccination was going on in full brisk in district. Even after taking vaccine, people must compulsorily wear mask in public places. The flow of vaccine to the district is expected to increase next month and all the people will get vaccine.
Corporators Shivakumar and Shanthamma, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. K.H. Prasad, THO Dr. Mahadev Prasad and others were present.
