CPI(M) opposes anti-democratic policies of the Centre

Mysore/Mysuru: Activists of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) staged a protest against the anti-people and anti-democratic policies of the BJP Government at Gandhi Square in the city on Thursday.

“The Modi-led NDA Government, which is ruling the country since 2014, had assured the nation that it will double the income of farmers, will create 2 crore jobs every year, control inflation and bring back black money from foreign countries. But during the last years, it has not fulfilled any of its promise and instead helped the corporates to loot the country. Instead of ‘Achhe Din’, people have to face days of atrocities,” said the protesters.

Stating that the people of the country are reeling under the new policies of Modi-led Union Government, CPI(M) activists said that the poor people have been badly affected by the rising prices of essential commodities.

“Cutting of subsidies, opening the country for free trade, decreasing value of the rupee against Dollar, extension of indirect taxes, failure to decrease the burden of GST and helping the black marketers are the reasons for the people’s miseries,” they alleged and demanded that the Government should take steps to check inflation and give additional quantity of rice to the State.

Dist. Secretary Jagadish Surya, District Committee Members L. Jaganath, G. Jayaram, N. Vijayakumar, Local Committee Member Subramanya, leaders Balajirao, Bhandari, Varuna Nagaraj, Chandrashekar, Krishnappa, Chikkamanchaiah & Rajegowda participated in the protest.
