Mysore/Mysuru: The activists of CPI (M) staged a protest in front of Mysuru City Corporation Office yesterday demanding the withdrawal of the proposed pay and park initiative.
‘Mysuru is a prominent tourist centre and thousands visit the city everyday. In addition, many people from neighbouring districts and States too visit the city to avail medical facility, for shopping etc., but there is no proper place to park vehicles in the city centre,’ they pointed out.
Besides, works on the parking lot at Town Hall premises is still not complete. Under these circumstances, it is not correct to introduce pay and park system now, they stated and urged the authorities to provide proper parking facilities for the motorists before embarking on pay and park.
CPI(M) District Secretary Jagadish Surya, Committee Members K. Basavaraj, L. Jaganath, B.M. Shivanna and party members Subramanya, Krishnamurthy, Balaram and others took part.
