Mysuru: The CSIR Pensioners Welfare Association (CPWA), Lucknow, an organisation of many centres across the country consisting of retirees of CSIR National Laboratories, annually meets either in Lucknow or in one of its centres for its AGBM and for deliberations on a given theme. The CPWA-2019 event is being organised by CPWA, Mysuru Centre on Mar. 30 and 31 at CFTRI campus. Apart from organisational meetings, CPWA-2019 has a theme Convention on Food and Wellness with special reference to senior citizens.
The programme will be inaugurated by Dr.K.S.M.S. Raghavarao, Director, CSIR-CFTRI on Mar.30 at 9.45 am, at the IFTTC Auditorium, CSIR-CFTRI Campus, Mysuru.
Three publications, namely the souvenir brought out by CPWA Mysuru Centre on Food and Wellness, Newsletter by CPWA (Hq) and a book on Health and Healthy Living are slated to be released on the occasion.
The souvenir brought out by CPWA, Mysuru centre, comprises highly relevant thematic articles on Superfoods, Yoga and nutrition, Healthy eating, Junk foods and making healthy choices, Millet foods, Street foods, Organic foods, Future of Indian food industry and Food allergy.
There will be seven seminar presentations on the theme with interactive sessions.
Dr. V. Prakash, former Director, CSIR-CFTRI, will deliver the keynote address on sustainable health and wellness while Dr.K.S.M.S Raghavarao gives a presentation on Science and Health.
The other thematic presentations are Dietary foods, Regulations for Health foods, Nutrition for seniors, Geriatric health problems and Role of probiotics, by subject experts in respective fields. The Convention is exclusively for the retiree members of CPWA and is being attended by 400 delegates. The programme will conclude on Mar. 31, according to a press release from the Chairperson, Media Committee, CPWA-2019.
