Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Mysore Urban Haat in association with Ministry of Textile (Department of Handicraft), Government of India, New Delhi, is organising Craft Bazaar at JSS Urban Haat, Ring Road, Hebbal Industrial Estate, here from Feb. 26 to Mar. 7.
Craft Bazaar is a massive exhibition of National and State-level awardee artisans from across the country. Being 120th exhibition of the Urban Haat, the expo will showcase the artifacts made by artisans from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Orissa, Punjab, Bihar and the seven sisters of India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura) with more than 100 stalls.
The exquisite Wood Carvings, Stone Carvings, Bronze Icons, Wood Inlay, Terracotta, Paper Machie, Carpets, Durries, Imitation Jewellery, Wooden Lacquerware, Pearl Jewellery, Boutique, Leathercraft, Kalamkari painting, Leather sandals, Stuffed toys, Kutch Embroidery, Dhokra Casting, Chanderi Sarees, Patola sarees, Pattachitra, Silver Filigree, Chittal Patti, Cane lamp; Bamboo, Dry Flowers, Chicken Embroidery, Cut Glass Jewellery, Carpets, Metal, Stone Artware, Printed Textiles, Madhubani Paintings,
Phulkari, Lac Bangles and Channapatna Toys will be the centre of attraction.
The exhibition from Feb.26 to Mar.7, adhering to Covid-19 protocols, will be open to visitors from 10 am to 9 pm. There is no entry fee to the venue which has a spacious parking lot. People can also avail the service of City Bus No. 117 from the Bus Stand to the Urban Haat.
Craft Bazaar will be inaugurated tomorrow at 4 pm by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha. MLA G.T. Devegowda will preside. Former Additional Chief Secretary and Camp Director of JSSTICE Bengaluru, M.B. Dyaberi, IAS and Chairman of KSHDCL, Bengaluru, Beloor Raghavendra Shetty will be the special invitees. Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Director of Collegiate and Publications Division, JSS Mahavidypeetha, Prof. Morabada Mallikarjuna, Managing Director of Cauvery Handlooms, Bengaluru, S.
