Sir,
It is heartening to see innovative methods being used to create awareness among the people and motivate them to vote on May 12 Assembly elections in the State.
One such recent initiative is the brilliant one of an illuminated sign in Kannada atop the Chamundi Hill that reads, ‘Nimma Hakku and Nimma Mata.’ In fact, I also noticed that the vote slogan is there on Nandini milk sachets too. This reminds me of the time when I was in the Publicity Department, how we were making short films on voter awareness and asking people to vote, by screening them on a 16 mm projector.
On a personal note, I have always encouraged people in my area to gather together to go to the polling station and cast votes. Even today, I try to follow it. May be this is also one of the methods one can follow to increase the percentage of urban voters.
