Cricket buffs enjoy match day at IPL Fan Park

Mysuru: The cricket buffs, who had gathered at the IPL Fan Park set up at JSS Science and Technology University campus (SJCE), enjoyed watching yesterday’s double-decker with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) playing against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The Fan Park was open from 2.30 pm and with the opening of gates, fans filled up the place within minutes. They were seen enjoying the matches along with their family members, relatives and friends. While, there was not much of a noise for the match between LSG and SRH, the second match witnessed the fans cheering the RCB who took on CSK and eventually emerged victorious.  The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had made separate seating arrangements for elderly citizens, pregnant women and specially-abled at the Fan Park.

Fans disappointed

A few cricket fans, who had come to JSS STU campus to witness the IPL matches, were disappointed as they were stopped at the entry gates by security personnel citing lack of space for vehicle parking and  seating as well.

People were seen arguing with security personnel for denying them entry and later forced themselves inside. A few others were seen jumping the compound to enter the venue.
