Mysuru: Hebbal Police Station in association with Seshadripuram Degree College, Outer Ring Road Hebbal, observed ‘Crime Prevention Month’ on Dec.27 in the college seminar Hall.
Around 30 degree students from different combinations, participated in the essay writing competition organised by the Police Department. Three best essays were awarded prizes.
P. Cheluvegowda, Hebbal Police Station Inspector, addressing the students, spoke at length on how to prevent crimes and how students should avoid crimes in their career. A video was played to make the students aware of the consequences of committing various crimes.
Later, the students had an interactive session, where they posed a few questions and got them clarified. Krishnegowda, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Hebbal Police Station, also spoke.
Yashashwini of second B.Com. secured the first place in the essay competition and received Rs. 500 worth coupon at Sapna Book House while Chandana of Second BCA (second place) received Rs. 300 worth coupon and Varalakshmi of Second B.Com (third place) received Rs. 250 worth coupon.
N. Archana Swamy, Principal, Seshadripuram Independent PU College and Police personnel from Hebbal Police Station attended the programme, according to a press release from Prof. K. Sowmya Erappa, Principal, Seshadripuram Degree College.
