Mysuru: Hundreds of students and Lions Club members took out a jatha (rally) recently as part of Crime Prevention Week, carrying placards and shouting slogans like wear helmet-save life, speed’s strength – danger to life, drunken driving – life’s last ride and other sayings.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe launched the jatha jointly organised by Mysuru City Traffic Police and Lions Club International at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple outside the Palace premises.
The jatha wound its way through K.R. Circle, Sayyaji Rao Road, Ayurveda Circle, Nehru Circle and through Ashoka Road reached Dr. Rajkumar Park.
Throughout the jatha, the students distributed pamphlets regarding crime prevention and creating awareness about following traffic rules.
Hundreds of students from Sadvidya Patashala and Marimallappa’s High School, ACP (Traffic) G.N. Mohan, Devaraja Traffic Division Inspector L. Srinivas, Lions Club Governor V. Renukumar, Dy. Governor Nagaraj Byri, office-bearers G. Mohan, K. Eshwaran, N. Jayaramu, Srinivas, D.T. Prakash and T.S. Ravindranath participated.
