Mukund-Vishnu pair bags Doubles title

Unseeded George Loffhagen of Britain bagged the Singles title of the Cycle Pure Agarbathi ITF Mysuru Open 2023 by defeating Australia’s 8th seed Ellis Blake 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 in the finals held at the Mysore Tennis Club (MTC) this morning.

DOUBLES

India’s Mukund Sasikumar and Vishnu Vardhan showed admirable enduring powers while bagging the Doubles title of the Cycle Pure Agarbathi ITF Mysuru Open 2023 yesterday.

In the final, they defeated top seeded Indian pair of B. Ritvick Choudary and Nikki Poonacha 6-3, 6-4 in 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Dr. K.V. Rajendra, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of Organising Committee, handing over the prize money to George Loffhagen, the Singles Champion of Cycle Pure Agarbathi ITF Mysuru Open 2023, during the presentation ceremony at Mysore Tennis Club (MTC) this morning.

Mukund and Vishnu warded off seven break points in the match while they converted two opportunities to break their opponents to ease their way to the title.

In a glittering awards ceremony, Manoj Kumar, the Secretary of MTC, handed over the trophy to the winners.

In fact, it was the second match of the day for Mukund and Vishnu and they showed great powers of concentration to stay focused on the task. They also won more than 80 percent of points on both first and second serves, indicating the consistency in their game.

Earlier in the day, Mukund and Vishnu romped into the Doubles final upsetting second seeded Australia-Ukraine pair of Blake Ellis and Vladyslav Orlov 6-4, 7-5.
