Sir,
In the letter titled “Proposed Disneyland Advisory Panel: A jumbo farce” (SOM dated Jan. 9), I saw the name of D.K. Shivakumar, Water Resources Minister, as the Panel Chairman.
You may take it that he will push Disneyland project as he wants.
It may be recalled that when he was the Energy Minister he met the people in Kodagu who were protesting against the High Tension Power-line across the forests, coffee estates and fields of Kodagu. He promised to help them by getting the project cancelled. What did he do? Nothing. Thousands of trees were felled (good timber) and the power-line was installed. For somebody’s financial benefit, permanent damage was done to the flora and fauna of the district. And people were made mute spectators.
Everybody loves money to keep winning the election. Nobody loves the motherland.
