Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and former Minister D.K. Shivakumar is likely to be appointed as the new KPCC President. The Congress High Command may announce the new KPCC President by new year.
The post had fallen vacant after Dinesh Gundu Rao quit following the Congress party’s poor show in the by-polls to 15 Assembly segments held on Dec.5.
Although there were names of D.K. Shivakumar, M.B. Patil and K.H. Muniyappa doing rounds, the Party High Command is said to have decided on Shivakumar, who is considered as the party’s trouble shooter and his appointment will be announced in a couple of days, according to sources.
