D.K. Shivakumar to take charge as KPCC President on June 7

Mysore/Mysuru: Nearly three months after he was named as the new KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee) President, Senior Congress leader and former Minister D.K. Shivakumar will assume office on June 7.

Shivakumar, who is the sitting Congress MLA from Kanakapura, will take charge as the KPCC President at the Party Office here in the presence of only a handful of top party leaders, due to COVID-19 lockdown regulations.

Shivakumar, who succeeds Dinesh Gundu Rao, was appointed as KPCC Chief by the AICC on Mar. 11. But the outbreak of the deadly Novel Coronavirus and the subsequent enforcement of nationwide lockdown, delayed his assumption of office.
