Mysore/Mysuru: Senior Education Officer D.K. Srinivasa Murthy took charge as the new Deputy Director of Pre-University Education (DDPUE) at the Department Office on N.S. Road here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that he has come to serve in Mysuru at a time when the District is battling the COVID-19 pandemic with all its might.
Noting that Mysuru is known as the cultural capital of the State, he said that his first priority is to increase pass percentage in all PU Colleges of the district.
Stating that focus will also be on unearthing sporting and cultural talent among students, he maintained that everything possible will be done to ensure that talented students excel in their respective field.
He further said that the Department would organise education quality enhancement workshops whenever necessary, during which resource persons will be invited to deliver lectures and impart training.
K.R. Pet Government PU College Principal Dinesh who also spoke, said that it is the responsibility of every teacher to identify talent among students. A teacher also should strive for making the students develop interest in academic subjects, he said and added that the teaching fraternity has the task of helping students achieve their goals.
Mysuru District PU College Lecturers Association President Yogananda, Principal Ramegowda, Samarpana Trust Treasurer and Lecturer Rajendra Prasad Honnalagere, M.S. Balasubramaniam and others were present.
