Daksha College celebrates Environment Day with Green Corridor Initiative

Mysore/Mysuru: Daksha College in Hootagalli, Mysuru, celebrated Environment Day-2025 reaffirming its long-standing commitment to sustainability, education and community engagement. The College formally announced its Green Corridor Initiative, under which it has taken full responsibility for planting and maintaining trees along the entire college road stretch — a bold and practical step toward environmental responsibility.

Chamundeshwari MLA G.T. Devegowda, who was the chief guest said, “Institutions like Daksha are not just educating minds — they are nurturing environmental guardians. Their roadside tree plantation and continuous green initiatives are truly commendable.”

Echoing this commitment, Chairman P. Jayachandra Raju stated, “At Daksha, environmental values are deeply rooted in our ethos. This is not a symbolic day — it is a long-term promise. We believe in acting today to shape a sustainable tomorrow.”

The programme concluded with an oath-taking ceremony and a tree plantation drive involving students, staff and guests.

Anitha Raju, Gautham Raju, Sonia Umapathy, P. Harish, Dr. Mahesha, M. Abhishek and staff of both PU and Degree Colleges were present.

As part of the extended commitment to civic responsibility, students of Daksha PU College also actively participated in the Clean Mysuru Drive.
