Mysore/Mysuru: Daksha College, Mysuru, with the approval of the University of Mysore, has for the first time introduced BBA specialised Hons degree in “Sustainable Development & Environment Management.”
The course aims to provide an opportunity to the current and future generation of students and professionals to make a real and meaningful difference in achieving the much desired effective environment management and sustainable development goals of the global community.
Daksha Founder Jayachandra Raju has served the United Nations in various regions of the world and is a keen promoter in achieving the global sustainable development goals.
Prof. J.A.K.Tareen, former Vice-Chancellor of three Universities (Kashmir University, BS Abdur Rahaman University and Pondicherry University), launched the BBA course recently as part of World Environment Day celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, he opined that coordinated approaches are necessary for solving the major environmental and sustainability issues facing the developing as well as developed regions of the world. There is a need to have a better understanding of the multidisciplinary interrelationships between sustainable development, human growth and the protection of the natural environment.
As is the practice of Global Education Trust, Prof. Tareen and the students of Daksha College planted a tree sapling in the campus to maintain it as a “Clean and Green Educational Hub” in Mysuru.
