Nadabrahma Sangeeta Sabha will bring two more programmes this February. On the 25th of this month at 6 pm, Mithra Naveen, a dancer from Mysuru, will present ‘Nartana Samarpana’ with her troupe. ‘Nartana Samarpana’ is a journey of Bhakti through Bharathanatya. With her husband Naveen, a vocalist, Mithra has started ‘ Nadavidyalaya’, an institution that gives qualitative education and preparation for students appearing for music and dance exam. Naveen provides vocal support for all her dance recitals.
On 26th February at 5.30 pm, a young vocalist with a rich voice Sandeep Narayan from Chennai will present a grand vocal concert with Charulata Ramanujam on violin and K.U.Jayachandra Rao on mridanga. One of the most sought-after Karnatak vocalists today, Sandeep is an ‘A’ grade artiste at Chennai AIR. He has broken boundaries by being the first US-born and raised musician to move to India to take up Karnatak music as a career. Sandeep has had his training from stalwarts like Calcutta Krishna Murty and Sanjay Subramanyam. A bachelor in Law and Society from the University of California, he is a visiting teacher of advanced music in the Sampradaya School of Music, Los Angeles.
