Mysore/Mysuru: Renowned actor and choreographer Prabhudeva, popularly known among his fans as ‘Indian Michael Jackson’ for his unique dancing style, has endeared himself to his fans, showing his love for the countryside, by remaining faithful to his roots.
Prabhudeva, the son of choreographer Mugur Sundar and Mahadevamma, a home-maker, has abundant love for his maternal native Doora village in Mysuru taluk.
Respecting his mother’s wishes, Prabhudeva renovated the Chola era Male Mahadeshwara temple at Kembal village in Nanjangud taluk, near Doora, by spending Rs. 25 lakh. He along with his wife Dr. Himani Singh and daughter, also took part in the consecration rituals of the temple held in April 2025.
The actor, who visited the temple a few days ago, relaxed for a while by taking a nap on the premises of temple. After sometime, he drank locally plucked tender coconut and ate the coconut cream, ditto like any villager, who is content with the naturally sourced juice to beat the sweltering heat. The video of his visit has since gone viral on social media.
Prabhudeva spent nearly one hour, easily mingling with locals, winning the hearts of many with his down to earth behaviour.
