Mysuru: The Dasara Exhibition, which was to conclude today, has been extended by five more days and will end on Dec. 24.
Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) has decided on the extension of the expo to compensate for the losses said to have been incurred by the stall owners owing to incessant rains in October and subsequent inundation.
The 90-day expo had commenced on Sept. 20 and was scheduled to conclude today. The assigned contractor of the expo had appealed KEA for extension of the expo citing losses to a tune of Rs. 80 lakh owing to inundation following heavy rains which had drastically dropped the footfall to the expo.
Considering the plea, KEA was said to have written to the Secretary of Tourism Department and the government has given the approval for extension of five days.
