Mysuru: Primary and high schools in Mysuru district will be closed from Sept. 21 to Oct. 5 in view of Dasara festivities. Though mid-term holidays for schools in the rest of the State are from Oct. 11 to 25, they have been advanced in Mysuru district after Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep wrote to the Commissioner of Department of Public Instruction on the same. The holidays had been advanced in Mysuru district to coincide with Dasara festivities, which start from Sept. 21 and end on Sept. 30. Schools in Mysuru district will reopen on Oct. 6.
In a letter dated August 21, Randeep had urged the Commissioner of Public Instruction to declare mid-term holidays from Sept. 21 to Oct. 5 this year to facilitate students and teachers to participate in the Dasara celebrations.
