Four players L. Vivekananda, C. Pavan, V.P.S. Darshan and Sharan R. Setty were tied with six points each from seven rounds, but L. Vivekananda’s better progressive tie-break score of 33, compared to the others, helped to clinch the title, in the Open Mens’ section in the Dasara Open Chess Championship-2018, conducted by MDCA which concluded at the Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.
Prasiddhi Bhat, a student of Acharaya Vidyakula, Mysuru, with 7 points from seven rounds won the title in the women’s section. The prizes to the winners were given away by M. Nagendra, Vice-President, UKCA and N.M. Biddappa, Vice- President, MDCA.
