Mysuru: The Dasara Food Mela Sub-Committee has invited application from vendors who are willing to setup their shops at this year Dasara Food Mela to be held at Bharat Scouts and Guides Ground and the MUDA Ground near Lalitha Mahal Palace in city.
Opportunities will be given to vendors serving tribal food, Indian regional food which includes North Indian style, Punjabi style, Rajasthani style, Gujarati style, Andhra style, Chettinadu style and Kerala style, rural and traditional style, millets and natural Agri food, Karnataka food style including North Karnataka style, Karavali style, Karwar style, Kodagu style, Malnad style, Mysuru style and Mandya style, continental food, sweets, bakery, condiments, cool drinks, fruits/fruit juice and chats.
The applications are available at the Department of Food and Civil Supplies office located at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Vendors can avail the application by paying Rs. 100 and the last date to submit the filled-in application is on Sept. 8.
The vendors must also submit documents related to their experience in food industry, previous participation in food melas and must also fulfil the rules and regulations of the Sub-Committee.
Meanwhile, the Sub-Committee has also invited applications from artistes to perform folk arts, orchestra, fusion band show, classical dance, dance ballets, contemporary dance, Yakshagana, magic show, khawali and other programmes. College students can also apply. Selected artistes and groups will be allotted time between 5 pm to 10 pm at both the venues of Food Mela.
Ice Cream and packaged drinking water vendors are instructed not to apply for stalls.
