Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Bengaluru and Ganabharathi, Mysuru, have jointly organised a day-long programme Karnataka Shastriya Sangeetha ‘Geya Karnataka’ at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar on Sept. 18 at 10 am.
The event will be inaugurated by Ganakalabhooshana M. Nagaraj and Ganakalabhooshana Dr. M. Manjunath, famous violinists of Mysuru.
Dr. Rama V. Bennur, President, Ganabharathi, will be the chief guest. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, President, Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Bengaluru, will be preside.
The morning programmes include lecture demonstration by Dr. R. N. Shreelatha on ‘Raagabhava in Varnas’; ‘One laya-two styles’ will be elaborated by Vidwan Arjunkumar.
Post-lunch has ‘Jathi and natuvanga’ by Vidwans Gurumurthy, Prasannakumar and Harsha Samaga. Sangeetha Kalacharya Vidushi Neela Ramgopal will talk on the variety of Pallavis. Dr. Shreekantham Nagendra Shastry will highlight rare Javalis and Padas.
The valedictory address will be delivered by Dr. Ra. Vishveshwaran. Both the organisations request music lovers and students to make best use of this opportunity, according to a press release from Dr. Kripa Phadke, Secretary, Ganabharathi.
