The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, NIE-IT, Mysuru, had organised a one-day National Seminar on “Nanotechnology for Energy, Environment and Health” at its premises in city recently.
Dr. Sumanda Bandyopadyay, Head, Polymer Analysis at SABIC, Bengaluru, in the inaugural address, emphasised the importance of Nanotechnology in various sectors such as manufacturing, medicine and industry.
Dr. C. Sharath Kumar, Director, Mediwave IVF & Fertility Centre focused on Tissue Engineering, Nano Pharmacy, Nano Robots and upcoming Nano Robotic Devices, Bio Calm Chip etc.,
Ramakrishna, Head, DRDO, Mysuru gave an insight into Production and Post-Harvest Scenario, Evolution and applications of Emulsions in the field of food technology.
Prof. Dinesh Rangappa, Special Officer, Centre for Nanotechnology, Centre for PG Studies, VTU, Bengaluru Region, explained about the importance of Nano Storage Materials and global challenges in the energy sector. Dr. V. Lokesha, Chairman, Mathematics and Computer Science Division, SKDU, Karnataka, spoke about Topoligical Indices for Nano Structures.
Prof. T. Ananthapadmanabha, Principal and Chief Co-ordinator of the programme presided.
