Mysuru: For the first time, the District Administration and the Tourism Department have jointly organised ‘Open Street Festival’ on Sept. 27 at D. Devaraja Urs Road in city to coincide with World Tourism Day.
The Street will be completely free of traffic and the day-long festival will begin at 7 am and end at 9 pm.
The Fest will have a variety of entertainment programmes, lot of creative activities and the focus will also be to maintain the street as plastic-free zone.
The day will commence with Yoga, followed by other special programmes and workshops. In order to create awareness on the use of organic products, an idol of Lord Ganesha using seed balls will be done and also workshop on Green and display and sale of organic products has been organised.
This apart, sporting events such as cycling and skating, games for kids, magic show, photo and sculpture expo, story-telling and other activities will be held. Stalls selling variety of food and snacks will be set up for foodies and music programmes for rasikas.
