Mysuru: A day-long Postal Employees Convention, organised by All India Postal Employees Union (AIPEU), Group-C employees, Postmen and Multi-skill Service, Mysuru, was held at Regional Telecom Training Centre (RTTC) at T.K. Layout in city.
About 250 members of Mysuru Division, excluding Nanjangud and T. Narsipur, as they come under Chamarajanagar Division, are participating in the convention.
During the convention, various demands such as hiking salaries, releasing House Rent Allowance (HRA) which is pending since eight months, hiking minimum wages from the existing Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 26,000 and providing benefits to rural postal employees among other demands were put forth.
Former Mysuru Zilla Panchayat President K.S. Dharmendra and President of Viveku Vidyalaya at Alanahalli here, were felicitated on the occasion.
AIPEU President P. Basavaraju, AIPEU Postmen and MTS President Vasanthkumar and AIPEU Grameen Dhak Seva President Mahadevashetty presided.
Senior Postal Superintendent of Mysuru Division D. Shivaiah, AIPEU Mysuru Division Secretary H.S. Nagaraj, Mysuru Division AIPUE Postmen and MTS Secretary H. Sundaraiah, Vice-President Dundumadaiah and others were present.
