Dubai: Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 59 runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 fixture at the Dubai International Stadium yesterday.
RCB won the toss and elected to bowl. DC began their innings on a good note, with Prithvi Shaw building a good partnership with Shikhar Dhawan. Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis also played big knocks, with DC eventually finishing at 196/4 after 20 overs. RCB were set a 197-run target.
RCB had a poor start, losing the wickets of Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch and AB de Villiers early on. Virat Kohli tried to anchor his side’s chase but could only muster 43 off 39 deliveries.
Kagiso Rabada was on fire for DC, grabbing four wickets, including that of Kohli. After this win, DC have climbed to top of the table with RCB at third spot.
