Mysuru: DC D. Randeep has requested the University of Mysore (UoM) to postpone examinations scheduled during Nov. 24 – Nov. 26 to enable students and faculty to be a part of Kannada Sammelana.
He said that the loud speakers installed during the Sammelana at Maharaja’s College Grounds could disturb college students. Hence, he has requested UoM to postpone exams, if any, on the Sammelana days.
University sources confirmed about them receiving the letter from the DC’s office yesterday evening and said they would soon take a decision. The UoM will have to postpone exams at four centres – Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Hassan.

Apart from seeking postponement of exams, Randeep has also written a letter to the Commissioner, Department of Public Instructions, Bengaluru, requesting the authority to declare holidays for schools and colleges on Nov. 24 and 25 to help students and teachers attend the Kannada event.
The DDPI’s Office also confirmed that a letter had been received from the DC’s office which was forwarded to the Department for a decision.
