Deadly Ring Road intersection claims one more life

Sir,

The deadly fatal accident at the GRS Fantasy Park intersection on the Outer Ring Road on Dec. 18 claiming the life of a lady is an eye-opener to all. I have been travelling in this road since last 19 years and seen many fatal accidents. There may be many reasons but accident is an accident only.

A couple of years ago, there were humps on both the sides wherein the vehicles were made to stop dead and proceed.  Owing to the Highway rules, the said humps were removed and instead rubber humps were installed.  After some months, this too was removed and a zig-zag barricade was installed.

Here again, the issue is that the two-wheeler intending to take right at the intersection normally turns little left to avoid barricade which makes the other vehicles coming behind at speed — who are unaware of this barricade nor the front rider taking little bend — causing the accidents.

Watchfully, I have witnessed many like this and it is high time that road humps are the only remedy for Indian vehicle riders.

As such, I request that proper road humps (series of 3 or 4 suitably designed) may be erected at GRS intersection, Belavatha intersection, Unnati Nagar Rail Under-bridge and so on.

Hope, this time, the City Traffic Police can take note of this and prevent innocent loss of lives,  at least in future.
