Mysuru: Rotary Midtown Academy had organised VIMERSHAE — Inter-School Debate Competition for High School students at its Abdul Kalam Auditorium recently.
Chief guest Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Chairman, Labland Biotech, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp along with Rtn.Dr.Prahalad, President, Rotary Midtown, who was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shetty lauded the effort of Rotary Midtown Academy in conducting such events providing the platform for the students to showcase their talent.
Chairman Rtn. Alagappan and Secretary Rtn. Ramkrishna were present. Around 40 students took part in the contest. The topics for the competition were: Rituals – Is questioning a right way to follow it and Impact of English language over our regional languages.
Taramani, Head Mistress, Government High School, D. Salundi, Somashekar, Science Teacher, Government High School, Hootagalli and Sarali, senior teacher, were the judges.
Winners
Supritha of Ideal Jawa Rotary School stood first and won the cash prize of Rs.5,000 while Preksha of Ideal Jawa Rotary won second place (Rs. 3,000) and Lahari of St.Joseph’s Central School came third (Rs.2,000).
