Mysuru: In a suspected rape and murder case, a decomposed body of an unidentified woman was found on the outskirts of city yesterday.
The half-naked body with injuries made from lethal weapons was found among the bushes near Varuna Canal in Rajivnagar 3rd Stage here.
The Police have suspected it to be a case of rape of murder as the body was half-naked and the face is beyond recognition as miscreants have disfigured the face with lethal weapons.
Yesterday, when Mysuru Rural SI Issak Ahmed was proceeding on his bike at the MUDA Layout near Varuna canal, he observed foul smell emanating nearby and on tracing the location from where the smell was coming, he found a half-naked decomposed body of a woman. The remaining clothes of the unidentified woman was found at a distance and the body bore injuries from lethal weapons.
It is suspected that miscreants, about three to four days ago may have raped and killed the woman and thrown the body among the bushes.
Mysuru Rural Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
