Mysuru: K.R. Constituency JD(S) wing had organised a function at Vishwamanava Park on Vishwamanava Double Road here on Saturday to distribute uniforms and sweets to Pourakarmikas in the context of the coming Deepavali festival.
About 100 Pourakarmikas received uniforms and sweets. An awareness was also created among the Pourakarmikas to keep away from crackers to have a clean environment.
MLAs G.T. Devegowda, S.R. Mahesh, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, former Mayors B.L. Bhyrappa and R. Lingappa, Corporator K.V. Mallesh and others were present.
The statue of Kuvempu in the park was garlanded on the occasion.
