A deer was attacked by stray dogs at Veeranahosahalli village on the fringes of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve this morning. The deer had strayed into human habitat near the house of one Govindegowda in search of food. Seeing the deer, a pack of dogs attacked it and the deer died due to injuries and exhaustion. Villagers chased the dogs and alerted the Forest Department. The carcass of the deer was taken away by the officials in a jeep.
