Mysore/Mysuru: The ‘No Confidence Motion’ moved against Mysore Race Club (MRC) Chairman Y.B. Ganesh has been defeated and hence Ganesh continues as the MRC Chairman.
Opposing the working style of Ganesh, MRC Committee members H.K. Ramesh, B.U. Chengappa, G.K. Balakrishna, K.G. Anantharaj Urs, Al Rm Nagappan, K.M. Chandre Gowda and K.V. Parikshith had moved for a ‘No Confidence Motion.’
The no-confidence move was made, according to some Club members, to protect the vested interest of this group in the Committee which wanted G.K. Balakrishna, known as an expert in Club politics, as the MRC Chairman.
The major controversy, it is learnt, was about Y.B. Ganesh suspending a trainer who was given a licence by an earlier MRC Chairman. This was the trainer who was declared a persona non grata by RWITC.
During the special meeting held yesterday, a discussion on ‘No Confidence Motion’ was held and later voting was conducted, during which equal number of votes (6 each) were polled in favour and against the ‘No-Confidence Motion.’
According to MRC’s administrative regulations, ‘No Confidence Motion’ faces a defeat when equal votes are polled and hence City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh, who is also the MRC Executive Committee member, decided that Y.B. Ganesh continue as the MRC Chairman.
