Mysuru: The two-day Defence Pension Adalat organised at Kalamandira in city drew to a close yesterday, with defence officials disposing of more than a thousand representations made by ex-army men and other defence personnel. Yesterday, the second day of the Adalat saw over 300 ex-servicemen from Mysuru and surrounding districts filing applications in prescribed formats. The defence officials, who received the applications along with supporting documents, assured the applicants that their grievances would be addressed and all benefits due to them would be given.
With a significant number of ex-servicemen unable to attend the Adalat due to their involvement in rescue and relief operations in flood-ravaged Kodagu district, the Defence Accounts Officials announced that another such Adalat would be held at the end of the year and the date would be announced sometime later this year.
