Defying disability, special children showcase their talents

Mysuru: Marking World Disabled Day, the District Administration, Department of Women and Child Welfare and the Department of Empowerment of Disabled and Senior Citizens had organised a District-level Cultural Competition for disabled children at Government School for the Deaf and Blind in Tilaknagar here recently.

The special children showcased their talent and proved that they were in no way inferior to normal children.

About 700 special children classified under various categories of disability like autism, mental retardation, deaf, blind and other physical impairment showcased their talent through fancy dress, drawing, solo and group dance, mono acting, singing and others.

The special boys and girls enthusiastically participated in all the competitions exposing their hidden talents.

District Welfare Officer for Disabled Abhikumar conducted the competitions.
