‘Delhi Chalo’ by farmers tomorrow

Mysuru:  Urging for fulfilment of their various demands, the Federation of Farmers Associations will be staging Delhi Chalo, Parliament Gherao, Highway Bandh and Jail Bharo agitations tomorrow, said Federation General Secretary Baradanapura Nagaraju.

In a press release, he has stated that the farmers in the State had suffered from severe drought and the agitation will demand Centre to come to their help and waive off farmer loans taken in Nationalised Banks besides giving support price for agricultural products according to Dr. M.S. Swaminathan Report.

The release further stated that 72 Farmers Associations from across the country will stage Delhi Chalo, Gherao the Parliament with support from Rashtriya Kisan Sangh besides stating that lakhs of farmers would gherao the Parliament from all directions on Feb.23.

The release also stated the State Sugarcane Growers’ Association had decided to stage Highway bandhs by blocking all National Highways in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts on Feb.23 besides stating that those farmers who could not go to Delhi would block the National Highways in various districts and support the agitation.
