Dengue awareness at Mandi Market

Mysore/Mysuru: With the State witnessing an increase in the number of dengue cases daily, various organisations and Government agencies have been taking up several programmes to create awareness among the people about measures to be taken to prevent the spread of the fever.

In a similar event, city-based Jeevadhara Blood Bank held awareness programmes at Mandi Market in the city to create awareness among the customers and shop owners yesterday. Stating that there was no need to panic, the volunteers said that having awareness about the dengue fever was important.

The shop owners and customers were advised to take preventive steps and co-operate with the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) which has initiated various measures including fogging to keep the city clean.

Speaking on the occasion, MCC Health Officer Dr. Venkatesh requested the public to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining cleanliness and a healthy environment.

Jeevadhara Blood Bank Director Girish, who expressed his concern over the diseases being reported in recent days, said that maintaining good health was of utmost importance for all.

Mandi Police Station SI Rangaswamy, Ganesh, Raju, Santosh, Cable Viji, Sadashiva, Suraj, Kannan, Rashmi, Prabhu, Mahantesh and others took part in the programme.
