Following the third wave of deadly COVID pandemic, the Co-operation Department has directed all Co-operative bodies, Societies etc., to postpone their General Body elections at least until March this year. The Department’s Joint Secretary M. Venkataswamy said that the Department had earlier asked Co-operative bodies not to hold elections till Dec. 2021, in the wake of resurgent pandemic. But as the third wave of the attack is causing havoc, all the Societies have been asked not to conduct elections or stop elections that are already underway, at least until March 2022 or until further orders.
