Mysuru: There seems to be no end to the list of deplorable roads in city.
Vijayanagar 1st Stage is acclaimed as a prestigious layout in city but Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bhavan Road is an eyesore with plenty of potholes and craters indicating that the road has been asphalted several years ago. Thousands of people use this road as it touches Kuvempu Trust School, Vidyavardhaka College, a Kalyana Mantap, a girls hostel and MUDA Ground.
The dry weather and bad road pops up a lot of dust as vehicles pass by polluting the area always.
The First Main Road is nothing better with shrubs having grown by the roadside, plenty of potholes and construction debris dumped by the roadside.
The 80ft Road has plenty of craters filled with sewage water overflowing from a manhole. Pedestrians and two-wheeler riders get a splash of stinking water as four-wheelers pass by.
Residents say that the area has become unsafe for people with bad roads and defunct street-lights. They strongly oppose filling mud in potholes as is being done by MCC which only worsens the situation. They squarely blame the elected representatives for gross negligence.
