‘Developing Positive Attitude is the quintessence of contemporary teachers’

Mysuru: “Self-esteem is the decision made by an individual as an attitude towards the self.  It encompasses beliefs about oneself for example, ‘I am competent’, ‘I am worthy’, as well as emotional states such as triumph, despair, pride and shame,” said Dr. N. N. Prahallada, former Faculty, Regional Institute of Education (RIE), NCERT, Mysuru, while delivering a special lecture to the participants of Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of Bangalore University here recently.

He said self – esteem  relates to one’s appreciative  and realistic opinion of oneself.  Developing positive attitude would make a person happier who can see the bright side of life and expects the best to happen. The benefits of positive attitude are many — it helps achieve set goals and attain success. makes person pleasant and will be liked my many, increases self- confidence, promotes energy, enthusiasm, interest and even curiosity and improves one’s abilities. Therefore, teachers at all levels of education must make students to develop Positive Attitude which is the need of the hour

As many as 51 participants from Karnataka and Kerala  attended the special lecture followed by a question and answer session.
