To prevent further outbreak of Coronavirus in the State and as a public safety measure, the Religious Endowment Department Commissioner, Rohini Sindhuri, through a press release has instructed respective Temple Boards under the Department to ban entry of devotees inside the Temple and carry out everyday rituals with only limited number of people inside the premises including Priests and other staff, thereby restricting public crowding, with effect from yesterday (Mar. 20) until further notice. All Darshans, Jathras, Rathotsavas, Cultural programmes, Utsavas and other activities that attract large crowds are banned. No prasadams or teertha should be distributed and Temples which already have ongoing Rathotsavas or Utsavas should conduct all the related rituals inside the Temple premises, said the press release.
At Chandramouleshwara Temple: As per orders, Chandramouleshwara Temple in V.V. Mohalla will remain closed, but the public can have Darshan through the collapsible gate, according to a press release from Temple Treasurer A.K. Ranganathan.
