Mysuru: DG&IGP Rupak Kumar Dutta visited the Police Training School (PTS) located at Jyothinagar, Karnataka Police Academy at Nazarbad and Police Public School on Mahadevapura Main Road in city this morning. The State top cop was received with Guard of Honour at both PTS and KPA.
At PTS, Dutta highlighted the role women police personnel play in empowerment of women and in protection of children and elder citizens.
Later, PTS Principal Dr. Dharani Devi Malagatti handed him a booklet about the training institutions. Addressing officials, the DG&IGP said that Rs. 2.8 crore had been sanctioned by the State Government for civil works and asked the officials to get in touch with Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation Limited and start the construction of the proposed building.
During his visit to the Karnataka Police Academy, he held a meeting with the officials and said that they played an important role in grooming aspiring Police officers and personnel.
Later, he visited the Police Public School and inspected the classrooms, infrastructure and ongoing works. He was also presented a PPT about the school and future plans.
Rupak Kumar Dutta will be visiting Sargur and will stay overnight at Kabini with his family. He will return to Bengaluru tomorrow. City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subramanyeshwara Rao, Additional SP N. Rudramuni and other officials were present.
