Mysuru: Heeding to the demand of art lovers of Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar, the Department of Kannada and Culture has decided to organise ‘Dharege Doddavaru’ for the second time during the second week of January next. The programme will feature a night-long rendition of poems of Madeshwara-Manteswamy.
Disclosing this to Star of Mysore, Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Chennappa said that the unique programme will be held in association with Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Limited which has provided a fund of Rs. 4 lakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme. He said that the programme would be held at the premises of Kalamandira to be attended by hundreds of art lovers from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar.
He recalled that over 200 people had gathered for the first such programme held in November 2018 to listen to the poems all through the night.
Chennappa further said that the selection process of artistes was going on. He added that 10 teams each with 5 to 10 members would be selected for the programme which would include prominent artistes who had performed last year.
